When the yen for coffee and a pastry or a sandwich strikes, you are never far from an outpost of one of the three major cafe chains: A.L. Van Houtte, Presse Café, or Second Cup (which are usually open 24 hr.). All have reasonable prices for decent food, and many have tables indoors and out for resting tired feet or plotting your next sightseeing moves.
